Fourteen sourced answers
Pokemon Arena 2D FAQ
Last checked 2026-10-23. Facts below cite a source.
These fourteen answers are the questions I kept hitting while separating Big Kid Nation’s project from Empress and the browser games. Each one is tied to a page I opened on 23 Oct 2026, or to a reference I could name.
If a sentence below would change the moment a beta build appears, the release-date page is the one I will edit first, and this FAQ will follow it.

Questions
Is Pokemon Arena 2D out yet?
No. Big Kid Nation’s site says it is not out, and it lists a public beta for December 2026. There is no finished release date.
When is the release date?
December 2026 is the public-beta month, not a launch day. Platforms are not named. I last checked the site on 23 Oct 2026.
Is Pokemon Arena 2D real?
Yes. Big Kid Nation publishes the project on bigkidnation.com, Instagram, and a YouTube channel that had four videos on 23 Oct 2026. The game itself is not playable yet.
Is this Pokemon Stadium 2?
No. Pokémon Stadium 2 is a Nintendo 64 game released in Japan on 14 Dec 2000, North America on 26 Mar 2001, and Europe on 10 Oct 2001. Arena 2D is a separate pixel project that is not released.
Is there a download?
Not from Big Kid Nation. The site tells people never to pay, log in, or download anything from anyone else to play it. See the download page before you install a file.
What is the Pokemon Arena 2D APK?
One checked APKPure listing titled Pokemon Arena 2D 1.7.7 identifies package com.empress.pokemon.arena and publisher Omniscye. That specific listing maps to Empress, not Big Kid Nation; unidentified APKs cannot be attributed by title alone.
What platforms will it be on?
Not announced. I did not find Steam, Switch, Android, iOS, or PC on the five public pages of bigkidnation.com.
Can I play it on mobile?
The Big Kid Nation project has no announced phone build. Empress has Android 8.0+, 64-bit only, and the developer said no iOS. Browser games run on a phone screen but they are different products.
Is it free?
Big Kid Nation says the project is free to play. Empress is “name your own price” on itch.io, which can be zero and is not the same sentence.
Is it a ROM hack?
Big Kid Nation’s public pages describe a standalone fan game and offer no ROM or patch. Media reports attribute a from-scratch Python claim to the developers; I could not verify code because no official source repository was identified.
What is Empress Pokemon 2D Arena?
A separate game by Omniscye with a self-reported 1,000+ Pokémon and forms, 293 moves, Windows and Android. It is already out. It is not the December beta.
How many Pokémon are in it?
Big Kid Nation has not published a final count. Confirmed beta champions I could see on 23 Oct 2026 were Greninja and Charizard. Empress says 1,000+ forms. The .online browser game says 24. eggieflip says 700+ (718 in a June devlog).
Where is the developer site?
https://www.bigkidnation.com/ . Instagram is @bigkidnation. TikTok is @big.kid.nation. X is @BigKidNation. Discord invite on the site is discord.gg/hybRjjTGDh. YouTube is @BigKidNation.
How do I get notified?
Use the channels on bigkidnation.com. The site says people on the list hear first, and everyone can play when the public beta opens. This guide’s release-date page records the last check date.
