Where to play Pokemon Arena 2D, and what is actually playable

On 23 Oct 2026 I could not start Pokémon Arena 2D. I could start several other things that show up for the same search. This page is the decision tree I wish I had on the first visit.

What “play now” means on the developer site
The games page says Arena 2D opens to everyone in the public beta in December 2026. The Kanto adventure can be started in a browser. Big Kid Nation’s play page says further progress after Viridian City and cross-device saving require joining the email list and confirming by email. It is not the Arena 2D beta.
Quick battle is a one-minute fight for people already on the vote list. It is not a public Arena 2D match.
I opened the .online title screen on 23 Oct 2026. The build string on that screen read 1.0, and the control strip listed WASD, 1–4, Space, Q/E, and Esc. That session was not the Big Kid Nation beta. The beta page still said December.
Risk, stated plainly
The browser games and Empress can disappear, change controls, or ask for a payment that Big Kid Nation told people not to make for Arena 2D. I am not hosting their files. Links below go to the operator’s own page.
If a page asks you to download “the official Arena 2D APK,” stop. That file is the Empress package, and Big Kid Nation has said a download is not them.

Questions
Can I play the Big Kid Nation game today?
No. The public beta is December 2026. The Play button on their site starts The Kanto adventure, a different browser game.
Do I need a download for the browser games?
No. pokemonarena2d.online and poke2darena.com run in the browser. They are not the December beta.
Is any of this on mobile?
The browser games work on a touch screen. Empress has an Android build. Big Kid Nation has not announced a phone version of Arena 2D.
